Board Member Bio

Margaret Dillon
Margaret Dillon has had a life long interest in ecological sustainability and our culture's energy use since the first oil embargo in the '70's. She lives in an owner built home on a land trust and former site of Gap Mountain Permaculture. She has worked as a teacher, carpenter and in the world of non profit affordable housing development and property management. In 2006, she became an independant energy and green building consultant - performing building assessments on existing buildings with blower door testing and thermography and consulting on deep energy retrofits and envelope designs for new construction.
Margaret has a MS in Environmental Science; MS Certificate in Sustainable Design; is LEED AP, a BPI Certified Building Analyst and Envelope Specialist and a HERS Rater. Her interest in NHSEA is in keeping with her business S.E.E.D.S. Sustainable Energy Education & Demonstration Services, which exists to promote high performance buildings for a carbon neutral and truly affordable future. Clean, renewable energy technologies are necessary - but reducing energy demand through conservation and greater efficiences is the critical first step.
